Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council H E Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti meeting with Ambassador for Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands H E Dr. Bahia Tahzib-Lie.
Doha: Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council H E Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti held yesterday several meetings with Ambassador for Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands H E Dr. Bahia Tahzib-Lie, Member of the Swedish Parliament and member of the Swedish-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group H E Cecilia Widegren, and Chief of Mission of United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Qatar H E Iman Younis Ereiqat.
During the meetings, they reviewed several topics related to the efforts of the State of Qatar in the field of human rights promotion and the Shura Council’s role in supporting these efforts, as well as parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Swedish Parliament and ways to strengthen and develop them, in addition to several issues related to relations existing cooperation between the Council and the IOM Office and ways to enhance it.
Meanwhile, the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the Shura Council hosted several officials and academics specialised in the field of economics to discuss the issue of inflation, high cost of living, and the increased financial burdens in society, during its meeting headed by HE Chairman of the Committee Mohamed bin Yousef Al Mana and in the presence of HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim.
During the meeting, the Committee surveyed the views of the competent guests about that issue and ways to address it. The Committee decided to complete its discussions on the subject at its next meeting.
