He emphasised that it represents a vibrant cultural project embodying the spirit of Andalusia as a historical space for coexistence, dialogue, and cultural exchange, while simultaneously reflecting the depth of the human and cultural ties that bind Spain and the Arab world.

H E Dr. Zalba noted that the mural, “Rawda, in the Comfort of the South,” is not merely a work of art, but an aesthetic window that opens new horizons for mutual understanding and highlights the shared values of Spanish and Qatari cultures.

He also commended Katara’s pioneering role in preserving shared human heritage, promoting cultural diplomacy, and creating creative spaces that contribute to strengthening cultural dialogue between peoples, thus enhancing the bridges of cooperation and cultural exchange between the Kingdom of Spain and the State of Qatar.

For his part, the Spanish artist Carlos Álvarez Las Hieras affirmed that his work presents an ideal vision of the traditional Andalusian courtyard.

It blends established elements of Spanish culture with Qatari symbols.  It serves as a window transcending the boundaries of time and space, connecting the two sister nations and creating a warm and inviting space that encourages viewers to engage with and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of both countries.

The unveiling of the Rawda mural in Rahat Al Janoub is part of a series of cultural and artistic initiatives undertaken by the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, reinforcing its position as a global platform for cultural dialogue and a destination that brings together heritage, art, and human creativity.
