QA flies Boeing 777 carrying Qatar 2022 livery to mark QND 2021

Doha: Qatar Airways Group celebrates Qatar National Day 2021 with a host of activities both on ground and in the air. 

The national carrier of Qatar operated a Boeing 777 aircraft with FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 livery, flying above the Doha Corniche as a special service, yesterday.

The airline also organised an internal event at its headquarters on  December 16, to celebrate the annual occasion with its employees, showcasing the country’s culture and customs to promote loyalty, solidarity, unity and pride in the national identity of  Qatar.

Visitors had the opportunity to discover more about Qatar through a cultural showcase and a variety of traditional activities, sampling Qatari delicacies prepared by local entrepreneurs in a Majlis setting.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, H E Akbar Al Baker, said, “On this special occasion, we extend our heartiest congratulations and greetings to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Amir, H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani,  Deputy Amir H H  Sheikh Abdulla Bin Hamad Al Thani, and to all the people of Qatar.

“We are delighted to mark Qatar National Day, a special occasion that allows us to celebrate as one nation. One of Qatar Airways’ core values is expressing our pride, loyalty and love for Qatar, and the National Day celebrations offered a chance for us to express the patriotism that is shared by all of Qatar’s citizens as well as residents regardless of their country of origin.”

In addition to this, Qatar Airways is the first global airline in the world to achieve the prestigious 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating by Skytrax. 

This follows the success of HIA as the first airport in the Middle East and Asia to be awarded a Skytrax 5-Star COVID-19 Airport Safety Rating.
