Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department, in its daily weather report, said parts of the country are expected to experience thundery rain this afternoon, Sunday, August 9, 2026.
The department said hot weather during the afternoon with a chance of local convective cloud development, could lead to thundery rain in some areas.
The weather report stated that inshore areas will be hazy to misty at first, with scattered clouds, while offshore areas will be partly cloudy and hazy at times.
Winds will vary in direction, shifting between southeasterly and northeasterly at 5 to15 knots, gusting up to 25 knots during thundery rain.
The sea state will range between 1 and 4 feet, rising to 6 feet at times.
