Doha: Qatar University’s (QU) College of Law received 169 students at the undergraduate level and 38 at the postgraduate level for this academic year.

Dr. Talal bin Abdullah Al Emadi, QU Dean of the College of Law, welcomed the new students and congratulated the new batch selected for Fall 2022.

The 38 students under the four postgraduate programmes include: 15 each in the Master of Private Law, and Master of Public Law; three in the Certificate in Studies Program Legal, and five in the PhD. Aside from this, high school graduates (with its literary and scientific branches) and six student transfers were also accepted.

Dr. Al Emadi wished everyone a distinguished academic year, hoping that they will make every effort to acquire all the knowledge and experience during college.

The Bachelor of Laws at Qatar University began 32 years ago or in 1990. Between 1990 and 2004, the law major at that time represented an academic department in the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies. Since 2004, the College of Law has become an independent college. The college began offering master’s programmes in 2014; and by the year 2018, the certificate programme in legal studies was launched. Meanwhile, in 2020 the doctoral programme in law was launched on three tracks: public law, private law and public international law (in English).

Since its launch, the college was determined to achieve everything that would provide it with scientific excellence among its peers, by keeping pace with modern methods of education, cooperating with reputable local and international institutions, and learning about Arab and international experiences in the field of law.
