Qatar enters Muqaddam period marked by rising temperatures and unstable weather

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department has announced the start of the Muqaddam period, which will last for 13 days beginning today April 3, 2026.

Also known as Hameem, the period is typically characterized by rising temperatures and the northwesterly winds dominate.

Weather conditions during this time can be unstable, with sudden changes expected.

The Department noted that the formation of convective clouds may lead to thunderstorms and dust storms at times.

Additionally, there was a marine warning for strong winds and high waves until today’s evening, with wave heights ranging between 3-8 feet
