Qatar-Kuwait relations characterised by brotherhood, common destiny: Ambassador

Doha: Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the State of Qatar H E Hafiz Mohammed Al Ajmi has stressed that the Kuwaiti-Qatari relations are full of bright landmarks throughout their ancient and modern history as the bonds of kinship between the two people have merged on an honourable path in Gulf, Arab and international relations. 

The Ambassador said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar National Day, that the relationship between the two countries does not stop at borders or proximity, but rather it is characterised by the distinctiveness and integration of fate due to kinship, lineage, common goals and continuous development, which transcends the limits of diplomacy. 

The ambassador added that the two countries are working to further strengthen political and economic relations, trade exchange and cooperation in various fields to be strengthened by the wisdom and vision of the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Amir of Kuwait H H Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, who laid the building blocks for strengthening these relations, moved them to the path of development and supported them in all fields to serve the people of both countries.

The Ambassador highly valued the launch of the “Sabah Al Ahmad” corridor by the State of Qatar, in appreciation of the positions of H H the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah and his efforts that continued to unite the Gulf countries, in order to preserve the security and stability of the region and the solidarity of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Arab countries, indicating that the coming period will witness the continuation of some Gulf diplomatic moves to restore Gulf and Arab relations to their previous state and bring joy to the people of one Gulf.

He pointed out that during the difficult times of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the State of Qatar has taken appreciated steps to contain and control the disease, strengthened its capabilities and became one of the advanced countries in health care, and cooperated at the international and regional levels to limit the negative effects of this pandemic. At the same time, he praised the great cooperation and the appreciated efforts of the Qatari authorities in hosting Kuwaiti citizens during the pandemic crisis, facilitating procedures for their return to their country.

H E ambassador of Kuwait to Qatar Hafiz Mohammed Al Ajmi congratulated, on the behalf of the Kuwaiti embassy, the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari people on the occasion of the National Day of Qatar. Stressing that the State of Qatar's celebrations of the National Day is a celebration of the State of Kuwait as Gulf brothers linked by sincere brotherhood and a common destiny, and an expression of the love, appreciation and pride that the Kuwaiti people hold for their Qatari brothers.

The Kuwaiti ambassador added that on the eighteenth of December every year, the Qatari people line up like one body, in memory of the founder of the sisterly State of Qatar, the late Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani, noting that this occasion adds to the Qatari people's glory and pride as it is an opportunity for new generations to get to know their roots and the honourable visions and glories that their ancestors established for them.
