Doha: Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the State of Qatar H E Drago Lovric has affirmed that the bilateral relations between his country and the State of Qatar can be described as very friendly and cordial.
In a statement on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day, the Ambassador said that good political relations between Croatia and Qatar, which are constantly on the rise, should also contribute to the development of bilateral economic cooperation.

“The average bilateral trade exchange in the last three years was $45m per year,” he said, adding that this exchange rate was primarily reflected in Croatia’s exports to Qatar.
The Ambassador congratulated the State’s wise leadership and all citizens and residents of Qatar, hailing the success achieved by the State of Qatar, whether at the regional or international level.
Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Croatian Ambassador said, “The Government of Qatar has done everything in its power to protect all citizens and residents in the State of Qatar. I would like to highlight that all the institutions of Qatar have been engaged to stop the pandemic. Qatar has shown exceptional responsibility for the lives of its citizens and residents. Mortality per infected person caused by COVID-19 in Qatar is probably the lowest in the world.”
Economic trade between Croatia and Qatar, the Ambassador said, has bright prospects because of the complementary relationship between the two countries’ economies and significant mutual interests, pointing out that there is a huge potential for cooperation in tourism, maritime affairs and mariculture, ICT, electronics and electrical engineering, construction, and the health industry.
He said Croatia has great potential, and with the help of investments from Qatar, it can develop production capacities that would fulfil the needs of the two countries for first-rate food products.
