With students set to rejoin schools tomorrow, back-to-school moment also reminds us of the diligence and vision Qatari nation has in the espousal of education as a whole. Qatar is among those few nations, across the globe, which attach great importance to education and consider it as a prime tool for development.

The words of the Minister of Education and Higher Education, H E Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi, at the annual reception ceremony held for new Qatari teachers, are alone enough to understand Qatar’s commitment towards education as he said education will remain the primary investment for Qatar, given it is an investment in human capital that makes great returns in all fields. The wise nation is at the forefront among countries which understands the role of education for national development. The tremendous growth of the nation in all aspects owes much to its policy on education.

The efforts of the Ministry in providing an inspiring educational environment that appreciates teachers are also praiseworthy. Education remains as one of the main priorities of Qatar National Vision 2030,  given education is a pillar of human capital development. The nation always urges all of its students to remain dedicated to education in order to make themselves and their families proud, as well as to continue the country’s development journey.

Qatar follows a unique system for education which highly supports the development of the nation. The nation proudly projects its unique approach in all global platforms and it received overwhelming responses from around the world.

At a high-level political forum of UN, Qatar explained how its vision on development is connected with education. It strongly voiced for intertwining the goals of sustainable development with education for fulfilling them in global scale. Qatar’s support for the cause reflects its commitment to inclusive education.

One should not miss mentioning the role of Qatar Foundation (QF) in this regard.  QF’s unique model of inclusive education interconnects with all sectors in Qatar, enabling young people to see and follow a direct pathway into fields from which they can contribute to the nation’s sustainable development vision while also achieving their personal goals. It aims to improve access to quality education on sustainable development at all levels to transform societies. It calls for reorientation of education by helping people to develop the required knowledge, skills, values, behaviors for sustainable development.

The skillful effort of diverting the power of education for human and national development is an art and the world really can absorb Qatar’s expertise in it for global development.
