Islamabad: Pakistani army killed 32 militants yesterday in the ongoing military operation against militants of Taliban Movement in northwest Pakistan.
The Pakistani military said, in a statement that its air forces bombed three hideouts of militants in tribal North Waziristan district destroying them and killing 32 militants.
The army added that its troops also destroyed 23 car bombs, weapons and ammunitions found in the region.
The Pakistani army is currently waging a military operation dubbed ‘Operation Zarb-e-Azb’ against Taliban rebels in tribal North Waziristan district in northwest Pakistan since the fifteenth of June.
It succeeded in combing and clearing a large part of the province by killing hundreds militants and destroying dozens of hideouts belonging to militants in the region.
Pakistani Military is the land-based uniform service branch of the Pakistan Armed Forces. It came into existence after the independence of Pakistan in 1947.
The Pakistan Army is a volunteer professional fighting force.

Karachi: At least 12 people, including a policeman and a political worker, were killed in Karachi in past 24 hours during fresh wave of targeted-killing in the provincial capital, SAMAA reported.
According to police and rescue officials, unknown persons dumped three bodies near Malir River this morning.
Police said the victims, identified as Amir, Pervez and Kalu, were tortured to death after being kidnapped. The corpses were shifted to Jinnah hospital for medico-legal formalities.
A bullet-riddled dead body was recovered near Sparco road in Baldia Town locality of Karachi.
In overnight violence and drive-by attacks, at least eight people lost their lives after firing incidents were reported in Orangi Town, Shah Faisal Colony and Shah Latif Town.
Two dead bodies warped up in a blanket were dumped by bikers in Jadim Goth area of Malir.
Report said dozens of policemen have been killed in the city in targeted attacks over the past eight months.
“Policemen are being frequently targeted in Landi, Quaidabad, Korangi, Baldi, Orangi, Manghopir, Pirabad, Sohrab Goth and North Karachi localities in the broad daylight,” DIG West Zone, Tahir Naveed told Samaa.
He suspected involvement of banned outfits in recent target killing of law-enforcers.
Reports said special warnings have been issued to policemen to remain cautious in sensitive areas.
