Doha: Police College organized on Wednesday a field application for the thunderbolt course for students of the fifth batch of college candidates at Zekreet camp with the attendance of the Head of Human Resources at the Ministry of Interior Major General Khalifa Nasr Al Nasr, Director General of the Police College Brigadier Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti and several officers.
The field application for the thunderbolt course, which saw the participation of 96 students, included diverse performances mainly the climbing from towers and high places, and overcoming obstacles, in addition to self-defense and apprehension performances.
The students discussed the marksmanship skills, and conducted special scenarios related to the police operations in safeguarding the security, and the application was concluded with screening a film that documents the training phases during the course period.
For his part, Brigadier Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti hailed the performance presented during the field application, and said that it was a flagship performance that simulated all trainings and scenarios and punctuated the course during the past six weeks, indicating that thunderbolt course is one of the most important and difficult courses the college students attend after the conclusion of their academic studies and military trainings along with the parachuting and diving with the objective of preparing and qualifying the students to operate in all circumstances and different situations.
In addition, the thunderbolt course is considered a completion for the legal training, policing information and knowledge acquired by the students of Police College during the study years at the college.
