The Qatar Stars League (QSL) launched the 2022-2023 football season yesterday during a ceremony held at the City Center Rotana Hotel Doha.
The launching ceremony was attended by QSL CEO Hani Taleb Ballan, Executive Director of Operations Abdullah Ali Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Communication Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari, Director of Competitions Department Ahmed Salman Al Adsani, Representative of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (Facilities Department) Khalifa Al Mana and Captain Saeed Juma Al Hitmi from the Stadium Security Department of the Facilities and Authorities Security Department at the Ministry of Interior, in addition to a number of guests and invitees, including the Co-Founder and CEO of Snoonu company Hamad Mubarak Al Hajri, representatives of Club Companies and a number of media outlets.
The ceremony focused on the most important preparations for the 2022-2023 season, as a number of initiatives and plans were put forward for an exceptional season. The most prominent among them were the use of 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar stadiums at the start of the league championship.
Addressing the gathering, Al Kuwari said, “I welcome everyone and thank you for your presence in this event that precedes our 2022-2023 football season, which will witness the organization of the 2022 World Cup. With this view, we’ve developed a plan of action since the end of last season in preparation for the new season, in co-operation with all partners, the authorities concerned and Club Companies, and we thank everyone for their efforts."

We invite everyone to enjoy the World Cup stadiums, which will host a number of matches at the beginning of the season, and this is an opportunity before the 2022 World Cup,” QSL's Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Communication added.

Director of Competitions Department Al Adsani confirmed that a meeting was held with the clubs and that all arrangements and preparations for the start of the season had been completed. He emphasized that the management of competitions, in co-operation with the Club Companies, will align with the various developments and events in this exceptional season.
SC representative Al Mana said, “We’ve co-ordinated fully with QSL in the holding of a number of matches in the first rounds of the league at the World Cup stadiums, as part of our plans to test the operational procedures again for these stadiums and in preparation for the FIFA World Cup.”
Captain Al Hitmi said, “Preparations are in full swing from the Stadium Security Department and co-ordination is in place with QSL to make the football season successful. It has also been agreed to continue the “You Are Important” initiative at the stadiums in the new season also.”
He stressed the complete readiness of the Stadiums Security Department after several meetings were held during the last phase to co-ordinate the arrangements ahead of the season.
Al Rihla by Adidas, official ball for QSL season
Rihla (The Journey) is the official ball used for Qatar Stars League (QSL) tournaments, including the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League, which will be one of the first leagues to use the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 ball.
The ball, revealed by Adidas, is the 14th official ball in a row that the company makes for the World Cup.
