City Exchange supports Indian community football tourney

Doha: SOL Qatar, a group of ex footballers association, organised a Football Tournament at Hamilton International School, Mesaimeer, Doha, from July 14 to 22, to commemorate late footballers A S Firos, Indian International and Dhanraj.

Arjuna award winner and the former Indian football team captain Dr. I M Vijayan was the Chief Guest of the finals on July 22.  The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Thomas, Indian Sports Centre, President on July 14. 

The tournament was blessed with a good number of spectators and received excellent support from the Indian community in Qatar. 

The balloons were flown in support of the Qatar World Cup 2022. 

The best eight teams from Indian community participated in the tournament and Ali International FC and FLY WELL TOURS AmigoZ FC competed in the finals. FLY WELL TOURS AmigoZ FC emerged as champions of the maiden tournament with a score of 2-1. 

Bijo Paul was man of the match and Shajeer was the player of the tournament, both from the champion team. 

I M Vijayan and Sharaf P Hameed, CEO City Exchange, Doha distributed the medals.
