Doha: InterContinental Doha The City has announced the appointment of a new Director of Food and Beverage as well as Chef De Cuisine at Prime.
Jan Hollunder, in his role as the new Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage operations at the hotel’s restaurants, lounges, room service, catering, and banquets.
A native of Germany and a graduate from Berufsschule Düsseldorf, Jan returns to Qatar after more than a decade gaining valuable experience in the industry. Most recently he served as Director of Food & Beverage at Hilton Düsseldorf.
Prior to that, Jan worked in various hotels such as Four Seasons Doha, The Chedi Muscat, Shanti Maurice Mauritius, Kempinski Grand & Ixir Manama, The Rocco Forte Assila KSA, InterContinental Fujairah, and The Meydan Dubai.
“Besides leading the team with strategic guidance and maintaining the coveted position we enjoy on Doha’s culinary landscape, I look forward to further enhance the hotel’s culinary experience and successes.

Earlier this month, Prime, the much acclaimed steakhouse in Doha has welcomed a new Chef De Cuisine, Tim Nolte. Originally from South Africa, Tim started his career at Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa.
Prior to joining the team at InterContinental Doha The City, he worked in various positions at renowned establishments including Lady Phillips Vergelegen, Asara Wine Estate & Hotel, Hunter Hotels Plettenberg Bay to name a few.
“I am very excited to be part of the team at Prime, a steakhouse that has carved its niche in the dining scene of Qatar. Moving forward I would like to bring my own flair and techniques to further enhance Prime and lead my team to provide a memorable dining experience to all our guests. I am in the process of developing a new menu for Prime, where my unique techniques and expertise will come to play, keeping in mind the time-honored traditions of our steakhouse’,” said Tim.
