DOHA: A friendly match between Doha-based football clubs of the Philippines and Nepal will be held on Friday at Al Arabi Sports Club as part of the ongoing fundraiser for typhoon victims in the Philippines.
The ‘Kick for a Cause’ match between Pinoy Futbol Club Qatar and Nepal will be held after the match between Al Ahli Club and Al Wakra Club at 5pm.
It is an initiative of Nasser Yacoub Laram, part owner of the clubs, supported by Qatar Football Federation, Qatar Stars League, and Al Ahli Club in coordination with the Philippine Embassy, United Filipino Organizations in Qatar (UFOQ), Philippine Football Association in Qatar and Nepal Football Club.
The venue will open at 2pm. Free transportation is available, with pick-up points at Quality Hyper Market, Al Attiyah Market and at the Bank Street (Tarbar Gate); bus starts loading at 12.30pm.
The event will also feature a bazaar, food festival, cultural presentations by Philippine International School Qatar and entertainment by Doha-based Nepalese and Filipino talents.
UFOQ Chairman, Isaias “Jhin” Tabuzo, called on the Filipino community to support the fundraiser by coming to watch the matches and help generate funds for the needy in the affected Philippine regions.
