Gulf Qatari Classic Cars Association becomes member of FIVA

Doha: The Gulf Qatari Classic Cars Association is now a member and official representative of the country in the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA) or International Federation of Classic Cars.

The decision was unanimously approved by The General Assembly of FIVA on Thursday during an assembly in Munich, Germany.

Gulf Qatari Classic Cars Association Chairman of the Board of Directors Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani said: “We are elated today to usher in a new phase into the future of the Gulf Qatari Classic Car Association. This decision will propel this incredibly important sector further and will help us achieve greatness in the years ahead.”

“We will work tirelessly to achieve harmonious corporation with the International Federation, and will collaborate with them on organising joint events, which will in turn enrich and elevate the classic car sector in Qatar,” he added.

Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the association Omar Hussein Al Fardan praised FIVA’s decision stressing that this will result in the activation of new strategic mechanisms and pioneer creative ideas that will have a great impact on the association in the coming years. 

“The association aims to benefit from the expertise of the federation by actively participating in the important events it organises,” he explained.

FIVA is a global non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, preservation and promotion of classic vehicles. Founded in 1966, it is active in more than 70 countries and represents millions of classic car enthusiasts around the world. Since 2017, the World Classics Car Organization has been a partner of Unesco. It also has an advisory role, representing the world’s automobile heritage and related culture.
