Winners with the Cup.
Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. (AAB), exclusive distributor of Toyota and Lexus, sponsored the Being Kind Foundation’s (BKF) Ceylonian Mega Bash for the second time. BKF is a duly-registered organisation that extends scholarship grants to underprivileged children in Sri Lanka as well as assist children with challenging conditions who are based in Doha.
Proceeds of the tournament enable the Foundation to reach out to more beneficiaries. Currently, there are 59 students with full scholarship from BKF with six students directly sponsored by AAB through part of the proceeds of last year’s maiden tournament. For the next school year, the Foundation is planning to add 20 more students in the roster including orphans who cannot afford quality education.
Present during the finals and awarding ceremony was the distinguished Sri Lankan national cricketer Nishad Tharanga Paranavitana along with one of the student beneficiaries of BKF Zakee Dewangso. Zakee has been BKF’s scholar for 3 years. Very articulate and a promising young man, Zakee rightfully represents his fellow scholars as the BKF Student Ambassador. AAB is committed to build and develop sustainable communities through sports and education. It has been at the forefront of major sporting events in Doha and has been supporting educational and technical training activities to develop the youth.
