Doha: Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanem met yesterday with a delegation from the Parliament of the United Kingdom, led by MP Alon Kearns, who is President of the Qatar-UK Friendship Association.
The delegation is in Qatar for the third edition of Qatar Economic Forum.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed the parliamentary delegation, expressing his appreciation of the parliamentary relations between the two countries.
The delegation praised the experience of the State of Qatar in promoting popular participation, and the efforts of the Shura Council in this regard.
The meeting also discussed a number of issues related to bilateral cooperation and strengthening parliamentary relations between the two sides. A number of members of the Council attended the meeting.
