The Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs organised a l e c t u r e through video conference on “ T h e condition of the righteous ancestors in the Holy month of R a m a d a n ” .
The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Osman Yusef Muhammad Ahmed, a graduate of the H i g h e r Institute of Islamic Studies in Sudan and a member of the association.
During the lecture, Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, renewed his congratulations on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, wishing that the month to be blessed for everyone, with goodness, and blessings.
Sheikh Thani praised the member of the association Osman Youssef and his lecture in which he talked about the virtues of deeds in this holy month, adding that we need to emulate and follow the righteous ancestors in the virtues and grandeur of deeds.
Sheikh Thani called for solidarity among community members during the holy month, inspecting each other and helping the needy people, especially from the vulnerable segments of society that need care.
He pointed out that the lecture came within the awareness activities carried out by the association for its members, their parents and all those who provide care for them in all its forms. The online lecture was held in line with the commitment of the association to the preventive health precautions measure to limit the spread of the coronavirus “COVID-19”.
The lecture witnessed a large and varied participation that included a group of people with special needs, the public and the media.
The session was moderated by Dr. Tariq Al-Essawi, the psychological counselor and an expert on special education. In the lecture, Sheikh Othman spoke about good deeds during Ramadan, and how the work of the Prophet and his companions was during the holy month.
They used to read Quran and keep praying and doing charity to poor people. Osman asked to take the Prophet’s companions as a model specially their life during Ramadan, without assigning ourselves beyond its capacity because religion is easy, and that Allah did not burden us beyond our capacity, but rather with what we can do.
