Qatar Charity (QC) has organised a programme for distributing school bags to Burkina Faso's sponsored orphans as part of activities and social programmes carried out to reduce the financial burden on parents and provide all means that would enable them continue their education.
QC distributed school bags to 900 orphans of both genders, in the capital, Ouagadougou, Bobo Dioulasso, and seven other governorates. Each student received a bag containing school supplies, according to the educational stage.
Khalid Abdullah Al Yafei, the Executive Director for Operations Department at QC, said that the charity distributes school kits to students to promote access to education and reduce the burden on their parents who cannot meet their school needs.
He explained that QC distributed the school kits to Burkina Faso's orphaned students as part of its development plan implemented in the country. QC extensively helps orphans improve their academic performance, as it believes they as future generations would take leading roles in their states' economic development. Mohammed Al Nuwayti, QC's Office Director in Burkina Faso, said that the charity carried out this humanitarian activity to send various messages and realise important objectives, including bringing a smile to the orphan's faces, reducing the financial burden on their parents and more importantly providing them with all the means needed to continue their education normally.
QC's staff working in Burkina Faso office and the orphans' families participated in the ceremony that was organised for distributing the school bags. The orphans' parents expressed their gratitude to the Qatari people for their generosity and philanthropy.
