Doha, Qatar: The Criminal Investigation Department at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the relevant authorities at the Ministry of Public Health, successfully apprehended three individuals of European nationality for practicing medical and cosmetic activities without obtaining the necessary licenses from the competent state authorities.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior stated that the arrest followed information regarding medical and cosmetic activities being conducted inside an unlicensed facility.
"After conducting investigations, verifying the information, and obtaining the necessary authorization from the Public Prosecution, the suspects were apprehended while performing those activities, and they confessed to the charges attributed to them," it added.
The Ministry added that the search and seizure operation also resulted in the discovery of numerous devices, tools, and medical supplies used in practicing those activities.
The suspects, along with the seized items, have been referred to the competent Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures followed in this regard.
Both the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public Health urge the public not to follow advertisements promoting medical or cosmetic services before verifying the licensing of private medical facilities and clinics, and ensuring that the healthcare practitioners working within them have obtained the necessary licenses from the competent authorities, in order to safeguard public safety and avoid dealing with any unauthorized entities or individuals.
