Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has established 45 small businesses under its income generation project for poor families in Tanzania.
The project was financed by the endowment fund of Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for charity work. The project aimed at providing incomes to support over 200 needy people. The businesses supported them to live a dignity life. It helped them to be self-sufficient from needy people.
The project provided money for startups to 30 families. They bought sewing machines, setting up ice-cream parlour. Some beneficiary families were provided equipment and tools for running workshops of blacksmith others were given motor bikes and appliances for opening restaurant. A total of 45 needy families were supported to be productive.
The project was implemented in collaboration with Dhinnurain charity organisation, RAF’s local partner in Tanzania. The organisation conducted a survey to assess suitable business for beneficiary families. The representatives of the organisation met with the families to know what types of business they can run.
