Barwa’s pavilion witnessed great turnout from businessmen, investors and real estate enthusiasts

Doha: Barwa Real Estate Group which participated as a platinum sponsor for the ninth edition of Cityscape Qatar 2021 which concluded yesterday, has witnessed a great turnout from visitors, and received a number of ministers and officials, in addition to a large number of businessmen, investors and those who are interested in the real estate sector.

The three-day exhibition was held under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). 

Honouring outstanding partners
On the closing day of the exhibition, Barwa Real Estate Group honoured a number of distinct partners, who gave an effective contribution to achieving Barwa Real Estate’s vision and strategy during the current year.

Abdullah bin Jubara Al Rumaihi, CEO of Barwa Real Estate Group, presented the honour awards to the following bodies: Al Waseef Asset Management Company (Waseef), Arab Engineering Bureau, Just Real Estate Qatar, Urbacon Trading and Contracting Company, and Al Jaber Trading and Contracting Company.

The Group will continue to give the award annually according to specific and fixed criteria through which partners are selected according to their contribution to Barwa’s real estate projects that keep pace with urban and population growth and investment concept, to support the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030, thus enhancing its status as a developer of the largest strategic real estate projects in the State.

High rates of inquiries 
The Group revealed through its participation in the exhibition the projects under study, mainly the Furjan Wadi Lusail project in the promising Lusail City, which received high rates of inquiries from visitors and interested persons about its features. The project is considered one of the most important and distinguished housing projects, whose idea was inspired by the Qatari environment, in order to reflect the culture and identity of Qatar and highlight the daily life and the components of old Qatari Al Furjan components.

Great interest from businessmen and investors
The great turnout witnessed by Barwa Real Estate Group’s pavilion during the exhibition and the interest of businessmen and investors in the Group’s projects reflect the success of the Group in providing real estate developmental and sustainable projects that include real estate housing cities that serve families and laborers, industrial, commercial and multi-purpose projects, all which are characterised with excellence and integration. 
Barwa’s projects cover all the areas of Qatar, reaching south to Abu Hamour and Mesaimeer, the industrial areas, Al Wakra and Mesaieed, and to the north to Lusail and Al Khor and to the west to Mukaynis and Dukhan, which reflect its vital and clear role in enhancing the national growth plans through reconstruction of the areas around Doha city and outside, expansion of the residential and urban area of the State of Qatar, to meet the real requirements of the community in order to achieve the diversified sources of income and reach sustainable development. This consolidates the principle of strategic partnership of the Group with the Government of the State of Qatar in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Balanced mixture of projects
The Group highlighted in its pavilion during the exhibition a varied and selected package of its real estate projects that reflect its strategy in the optimum use of its investments, and presented a balanced mixture of various real estate projects that support the State’s growth in all fields. It also reflects at the same time the Group’s leadership in the field of real estate development in the State of Qatar and the region.

Housing Projects
The housing sector projects amount to 34 percent of the operating assets of the Group’s portfolio. The projects include the following: 
Mesaimeer and Al Sailiya Housing
This project which was established in two separate locations is one of the projects that supports the community and improves the living conditions of low- and middle-income groups. The project provides 1,984 housing units (two rooms and a hall and three rooms and hall), 22 commercial stores with different areas, in addition to integrated service facilities.

Barwa Al Khor- Shell Staff Housing
This is a housing project for families that extends on a 138,000 square metre area, and provides 50 housing villas, 300 housing apartments, in addition to other several services including nursery, supermarket, mosque, in addition to a multi-facility entertainment club with pools, tennis, basketball and cricket courts.

Al Khor Projects (Al Khor Complex)
The project includes 11 packages that provide 3,171 housing units including apartments and villas that were completely leased to Qatar Petroleum and its subsidiaries. The project was designed according to the concept of integrated housing Cities that provide schools, mosques, recreational facilities and landscape spaces,
Industrial and Logistic Projects
The real estate projects for the industrial and logistics sector amounts to 10 percent of the operating assets of the Group portfolio. These projects include:

Um Shahrain Warehouses
The project was established on an a 500,000 square metre land in Um Shahrain area, and consists of low cost storage warehouses, with a total building area of 259,446 square metres, including dry warehouses with the area of 131,671 square metres, air-conditioned warehouses with the area of 62,812 square metres, cooled warehouses with the area of 36,922 square metres, and freezing warehouses with the area of 19,028 square metres. The project also includes the building of the housing complex allocated for the accommodation of the employees in the complex with a total area of 77,655 square metres and offices for project management with the area of 532 square metres and 38 commercial stores with total area of 1,676 square metres, in addition to a mosque with the area of 700 square metres.

Al Baraha Workshops and Stores
This is an extension to Barwa Al Baraha project, and it is the area parallel to the working-class housing project which was previously called “Truck Parking.” The project includes construction of workshops and stores for craftsmen on the area of 684,134 square metres, and this stage has a vital role in providing stores for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in addition to workshops that suit the requirements of craftsmen in the industrial area. Al Baraha workshops and stores provide 561 stores and 118 workshops on a total area about 187,000 square metres.

Commercial and Multi-purpose Projects
The percentage of the real estate projects for commercial and multi-purpose usage amounts to 9 percent of the operating assets of Barwa Real Estate Group portfolio. These projects include:

Al Mawater City
Barwa Real Estate Group developed Al Mawater City which is spread across 1,151,731 square metre area, on several stages to ensure achieving full benefit in operation process and realising expected returns.
The first and second stages of the city were implemented and operated including 119 exhibitions for used cars in the areas ranging between 400 and 1,000 square metres and about 20 commercial stores, in addition to 176 housing apartments, and 176 offices with different areas. This is in addition to maintenance workshops and service facilities.

Dukhan Market
Dukhan market project was established to provide the residents and visitors with a pioneering market experience in one of Qatar’s fast growing cities. The market comprises of 18 commercial stores with wide areas, in addition to 10 offices that meet the needs of the beneficiaries.

Zekrit market
Zekrit market keeps up with the requirements of the residents and frequenters, as it was developed as a strategic location near Dukhan highway, and consists of 40 retail units, in addition to 31 housing apartments. It provides all the integrated service facilities, car parking and several different services.

Workers’ Projects
Workers housing sector projects amount to 45 percent of the operating assets of the Group portfolio. These projects include:

Barwa Al Baraha
Barwa Al Baraha project is located in the industrial area and spreads across a 1.8 million square metre area. It consists of 64 buildings, each comprises one ground floor + 3 upper floors, 134 housing rooms and also includes a group of restaurants, commercial stores and sports fields, in addition to a number of mosques, marketing centre, public facilities, and medical center. There are 48 commercial stores that meet the requirements of the residents.

Mukaynis Complex (low-cost residential city)
The project of Mukaynis Complex (low-cost residential city) developed by Bawa Real Estate Group extends on three stages across a 994,567 square metre area, and consists of 3,170 housing units designed in the style of traditional Arab houses, comprising of 8 master bedrooms and a kitchen to accommodate more than 100,000 workers. The design of the project observes preserving the privacy of city residents, as it contains a private patio for each house that allows the residents to enjoy the fresh air and preserve their privacy, while the design considers the environmental and social aspects that fit the surrounding conditions.
