QNA

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has seized 47 Habara birds for illegal entry into the country in violation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

The Ministry said in a statement yesterday it was working on taking legal action against violators, especially as Habara bird is considered as an endangered spicy.

The Ministry explained that it is working on increasing the numbers of the spicy in some of its natural reserves and farms, in order to protect it as part of the State’s effort to maintain the ecological balance.
