Doha, Qatar: The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman HE Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
The conversation discussed ways to deepen and expand bilateral ties, as well as the latest regional dynamics, particularly the ongoing diplomatic efforts and closer coordination for de-escalation and reinforcing security and stability in the region.
During the call, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of all parties committing to dialogue and diplomacy and implementing what had been concurred on in the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This, His Excellency said, includes freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, respect for the Sultanate of Oman's sovereignty over its territorial waters to safeguard the region's security and the achieved gains, as well as promoting regional stability.
His Excellency reiterated that the State of Qatar thoroughly backs all endeavors to de-escalate tensions and reach a comprehensive accord that achieves sustainable peace in the region.
