Doha: Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the State of Qatar H E Dr. Mustafa Boutoura has said that this year’s National Day celebrations are special and outstanding as they coincide with the country’s hosting of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the world’s major international sporting event.
In a statement to QNA, he extended congratulations to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the government and the people of Qatar on this happy occasion, adding that Algeria, through these celebrations and associated events and activities, shares the pride and joy of brotherly Qatari people amid their huge internal and external achievements.
He also noted the great success that distinguished the World Cup opening ceremony that grabbed the attention of the whole world and large-scale acclaim over its widely acknowledged dazzling organisation and smooth movement inside and outside stadiums and arenas and squares that hosted the World Cup-associated various cultural and artistic events.
The Ambassador pointed out that the National Day celebrations for this year were marked by the return of the Darb Al Saai activities, where these wonderful events, represented by a group of cultural and heritage activities that exceeded 190 main events and 4,500 activities, contributed to highlighting Qatari culture and its authentic heritage to visitors and World Cup fans from worldwide.
They also presented bright picture of Qatar’s potentials to produce an elegant model that blends tradition and modernity, and embodies the meanings of pride and adherence to the national identity, the country’s heritage, and the legacy of the ancestors, the ambassador added.
He added that all those who experienced and monitored the course of the tournament will find that this success and impressive historical achievement culminated the country’s 12-year tremendous efforts and hard work despite all the challenges and hardships it confronted and all the desperate disinformation and distortion campaigns fuelled by circles known for special agendas and interests.
Qatar’s practical and civilized response silenced those schemes, he said, highlighting the acclaim of fans of all nationalities for the hospitality, welcome and generosity they received from Qatari people and unique multi-field performance.
He also stressed that this impressive success gave the world an unprecedented civilized image in the World Cup tournaments, concluding that history will definitely record the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as a milestone in the history of the most popular game in the world and a source of pride for every Arab and Muslim.
