DOHA: Al Rayyan and Al Khor stadiums will entertain thousands of expat workers and families on National Day with sports, cultural and entertainment events.
Activities are organised by the Committee of Associated Programmes in collaboration with expat communities.
At Al Rayyan stadium Filipino, Indonesian and Malaysian communities will participate in activities, along with students from the Philippines Doha School, Scholars International School, Philippines International School and Doha Modern Indian School.
Artists from the Nepalese community and Al Khor community will perform at Al Khor stadium, joined by students from Birla Public School, Ideal Indian School and Shantiniketan Indian school.
In the morning, Al Rayyan stadium will see performances by Whoodesska, a Filipino musical band, dance by DIMP Crew, solo performance by Edgar Gian Bernardino, Angklung, a traditional music by an Indonesian women troupe and Tari, a traditional Indonesian dance.
There will be a solo performance by Nikki Vicencio from the Philippines followed by folk dance by Extreme Level Dance Crew. Kuda Kepang dance, Endang dance and Dikri Tari by Malaysian artists from Dukhan, a performance by Klische musical band, group dance led by DIMP Crew will also be held.
The afternoon session will start with performances by Indonesian and Malaysian community teams and include a thematic show ‘Wonderful country in the desert’.
Dikri Barat and Cintailah Tanah Air by Wardatul Sohro followed by solo performance and dances by Filipino stars will also be held. Iwan Orchestra, Rumah Kita dance group from Indonesia and Nort Diversion Band, M2CD Dancers and Rochelle Juliano all from the Philippines will also entertain the gathering.
In the evening, there will be a solo performance by Nort Diversion Band, a magic show ‘The Amazing Juggler’ followed by a solo performance by Indonesian artist Opick and a Qatari song by Soutul Manar from Indonesia. Events will conclude with a Bollywood dance by Desi Rockers, and songs and dances by Farenhayt Filipino musical band.
There will be 100m and 200m races at Al Rayyan and a friendly football match at Al Khor. The Peninsula
