Qatar moves to 101st place in FIFA rankings

Zurich: Qatar has moved up one place to 101 in the latest FIFA rankings issued by football governing body.

Two months ago, Qatar was ranked 102, the position now occupied by Oman. 

The United Arab Emirates ranks the best in the GCC at 89th position. Saudi Arabia is at 109 while Kuwait is ranked 113 and  Bahrain is ranked 117th.

The world’s top 13 teams maintain the status quo. Spain, Germany and Argentina occupy the FIFA’s first three spots.

The biggest mover was Grenada, up 20 places, riding on gains of 68 points. Senegal moved up 12 places to 76, also moving up 12 places to occupy 140th rank was St Lucia. South Africa was up six places to 56th spot. Albania has moved up five places to 43 while Nigeria has moved up three positions to 28th.

St Vincent and the Grenadines was the biggest loser, dropping 10 places to 131st rank. Japan is the top ranked team in Asia, ranked at 30. South Korea are ranked 42nd in the world while Australia — the third-best side in Asia — are at 47. India dropped one position to 150th.QNA
