Doha: To enhance its activities in the field of public relations, Dar Al Sharq has signed a cooperation agreement with the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) to provide certain services and outreach to public relations personnel in Qatar to enhance awareness of, and excellence in, the profession.

The agreement was signed by Secretary-General of IPRA, Philip Sheppard, and Assistant to the CEO of Dar Al Sharq, Jassim Fakhro, who was appointed as the National Coordinator for the newly-created IPRA Qatar Chapter.

The agreement comes as a continuation of efforts by Dar Al Sharq in the field of communications, which began by activities to enhance the practice of public relations and will continue with a website focused on public relations in the Arab world.

Fakhro expressed his pride in signing the agreement with IPRA, the world’s oldest global association for PR professionals. The agreement will, among other things, provide PR training opportunities as well as improved networking.

For his part Philip Sheppard has welcomed the signing of the agreement that seeks to strengthen the PR profession in Qatar. “We are delighted to enhance the regional IPRA Gulf Chapter with a country-specific IPRA Qatar Chapter. I look forward to the owners of  PR agencies and in-house PR managers submitting to, and winning in, the annual IPRA Golden World Awards Competition. A winning entry from Qatar in 2021 will be a first for this beautiful Gulf State,” he added.

Dar Al Sharq has recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Power International Holding Company to sponsor the website focused on public relations in the Arab world.
