Doha: Qatar has welcomed the signing of Declaration of Algiers by the Palestinian factions emanating from the "reunification conference to achieve Palestinian national unity", and considered it as a positive step in the national unity's road, and a consolidation of the national project to establish an independent Palestinian state on 1967 borders with eastern Jerusalem as its capital.
In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed that Qatar supports all efforts devoted to ending the division and achieving the Palestinian national unity as supreme interest, and encouraged all the Palestinian parties to uphold dialogue to overcome the differences and move forward to strengthen the resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people in resisting the occupation to regain their legitimate rights.
The ministry expressed Qatar's aspiration to maintain the spirit of unity and partnership among the Palestinian brothers. It also expressed its utmost appreciation for the sisterly People's Democratic Republic of Algeria for its role in patronizing the talks.
