The competition is being rolled out in preparation for the highly anticipated AgriteQ 2026 event. The initiative aims to underscore the added value of the local agricultural sector as a fundamental pillar for realizing the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and addressing future needs related to food security and sustainability.
By leveraging artistic creativity and modern photography techniques, the competition seeks to highlight the aesthetic beauty and crucial role of the country’s agricultural landscape.
Commenting on the launch, Yousef Khalid Al-Khulaifi, Head of the AgriteQ 2026 Organizing Committee, emphasized the Ministry’s efforts to connect this vital sector with the community through visual arts.
“We see this initiative as an effective means to shine a spotlight on Qatar’s agricultural success stories and to reaffirm our commitment to the highest international standards in sustainable agricultural production,” Al-Khulaifi stated.
Jassim Al Buainain, Director of the Qatar Photography Center, noted that the competition opens new horizons for photographers to showcase their creativity and document the stages of agricultural evolution in Qatar.
“We are confident that this initiative will contribute to enhancing the State’s position on the global map and deliver visual content that aligns with international trends supporting the environment and sustainability,” Al Buainain added.
The “Lens of Qatari Agriculture” competition will run for three months, inviting both professional and amateur photographers to document the beauty and diversity of Qatar’s agricultural scene.
Submissions will open on October 12, 2025, with a Photography Deadline of January 15, 2026. The winners' announcement is scheduled for February 11, 2026, which will take place during the next session of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ).
