MONTREAL: A new anti-doping laboratory in Qatar was approved by World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) executive committee yesterday.
Anti-Doping Lab Qatar completed requirements of WADA’s accreditation process, which started in 2014, WADA said.
The process included site visits, participation in WADA’s external quality assessment scheme monitored by WADA’s laboratory group. It is the 35th WADA-accredited laboratory.
“Qatar is a key player in the sporting world, and its laboratory will play an increasingly important role in improving anti-doping analytical capacities in Qatar and the Middle East region,” said Craig Reedie, President, WADA, in a statement. Reuters
