CAIRO: The 32nd Session of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council kicked off in Cairo on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Yemeni Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Amat al-Razzaq Ali Hamad, succeeding her Lebanese counterpart Wael Abu Faour.
Qatar delegation to the meeting is headed by HE Minister of Social Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Hamidi.
The ministers will discuss during the Council's new session preparations for the Arab summit which will be held in Doha in March at the level of Arab kings and presidents as well as preparations for the Third Arab Economic, Social and Development Summit, which will be held in the Saudi capital Riyadh in January.
They will also discuss progress in the implementation of the decisions of the previous economic summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh in 2011.
The ministers will also discuss means of providing support to Arab countries hosting Syrian refugees as well as offering relief aid to the Yemeni people.
Other topics for discussion will include ways of combating poverty, unemployment and illiteracy among women. (QNA)
