Onattukara Pravasi Association Qatar organise interschool quiz

Doha: To celebrate the 76th Independence year and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Onattukara Pravasi Association Qatar (OPAQ) organized an Interschool Quiz competition ‘INDIA@100’ for secondary school students across the Indian schools in Qatar. The program was conducted in ICC Ashoka Hall on October 29, 2022.

Veteran Quiz master Mansoor Moideen conducted the quiz in which 13 teams from nine prominent Indian schools participated and six teams were selected for the final round. The rolling trophy for OPAQ Quiz Competition ‘INDIA@100’ season1 and the first position was grabbed by shining stars Aaryan Sujith and Ankush Ghosh of DPS Modern Indian School. The second position and third position were swayed by Sruthi Lakshmi and Mohammed Ehtasham of Doha Modern Indian School and Srihari Anil and Varun Vipin of Ideal Indian School respectively.

A socio-cultural organization established in 2009, affiliated to ICC, Qatar, under the aegis of Embassy of India, Qatar, OPAQ has around 500 members from four southern district parts of Kerala.

The event was held in the presence of chief guest P N Babu Rajan, President ICC and guest of honor Subramanya Hebbagalu, ICC Vice President; Vinod Nair President ICBF; Manikantan, Former ICC President and IBPC MC member; Jayarajan, KBF Chairman-Advisory committee; Nihad, KBF Gen Secretary; and Manalur Gopinathan, Sangeetha Natak Academy award winner. 

Jayashree Suresh, President OPAQ presided the function. Abdul Sathar, Chairman Advisory board OPAQ, Vice President of IBPC, and Director of the event delivered the welcome note.  Arjun M A, General Secretary OPAQ and Prasanth CG, Event Coordinator and Cultural secretary OPAQ, officials and Executive committee members coordinated the event. Also, OPAQ community and members of associated organizations attended the function. Sreejith Karunakaran PRO, OPAQ proposed vote of thanks.

The quiz contest was trailed by cultural programs, felicitation, and prize distribution ceremony. The event concluded with expressing solidarity of OPAQ to Qatar FIFA 2022, followed by national anthem.
