DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment today opened Mohamed bin Jassim Park in Umm Salal Mohammed.
The park is spread over 5,988 square metres and provides many services and facilities like a playground for children, cafeteria, parking lot and sun-shades.
The opening was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Thani, Umm Salal Municipality director , Assistant Director of public parks department and a number of Umm Salal municipality officials.
“The park is the best park in Umm Salal because it is equipped with all facilities and services for visitors like playground and walking trails,” said Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Thani, adding that the park was located in a residential area which would cater more people.
For his side Khalaf Ajlan Al Anzi, Director, Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said that the ministry was keen to offer the park, and the park’s opening had come within the Ministry's plans to increase the number of parks and gardens in the state.
Al Anzi also added that the parks were suitable places for holding awareness activities organized by the ministry in collaboration with some authorities and governmental institutions.
A number of parks were opened recently like Ali bin Jassim park, Nasser bin Abdellah Al Attiyah park. Thirteen types of flora have been used to decorate the park which is also monitored by CCTV cameras and security room.
