Doha: President of the Supreme Judiciary Council, President of the Court of Cassation H E Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Mohanadi met yesterday with Minister of Justice of United Kingdom H E Lord David Wolfson, who is currently visiting the country.
The meeting dealt with reviewing the history of judicial cooperation between Qatar and the UK, and the opportunities available to advance that cooperation, particularly in the field of building institutional and human capabilities in the judicial field. The meeting also dealt with the two sides’ experience in the application of Artificial Intelligence in judicial documentation, and the impact it could have in that regard.
They agreed to restart direct exchanges between the courts of the two countries, which was challenged by COVID-19 pandemic. The two sides also exchanged views on the importance of reformulating bilateral cooperation patterns in the judicial field, especially in the field of electronic crimes and unusual commercial disputes, in addition to gathering and evaluating evidence.
The two sides agreed at the end of the meeting on a plan for joint cooperation, which will be implemented at the start of the new year.
