Ambassador of Sweden H E Anders Bengtcen praised the efforts made by Qatar on the Afghan file, and its humanitarian endeavors, including the evacuation of many Swedish citizens and residents.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he said that Qatar has shouldered an important diplomatic role in Afghanistan and in the evacuations from Afghanistan, including the evacuation of many Swedish citizens and residents, adding that Sweden greatly appreciates the cooperation with and assistance from Qatar in this context. “Nationally, the first ever elections to the Shura Council were held on October 2nd.
Qatar now has a Shura Council where the majority of the members have been elected. This is significant,” he said. The envoy also praised Qatar’s labour reforms, its success in controlling the COVID pandemic, as well as the launch of its impressive vaccination program which was quickly implemented.
