Doha: Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines H E Alan L. Timbayan said yesterday that the Philippines continues to work closely with Qatar in areas of mutual interest with the end view of bringing the two countries bilateral relations to new heights.
He stressed that the State of Qatar is an important ally of the Philippines in the Middle East, especially on the labour front, which represents a major pillar of the Philippines-Qatar bilateral relations.
The ambassador added, in remarks made to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar National Day, that the Philippines was proud to have found a close friend in this part of the world.
He praised Qatar’s progress in implementing its 2030 national vision, stressing that Qatar has become an active and prosperous member of the international community.
He stressed that the country managed to overcome challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic effectively.
H E the ambassador then extended his congratulations to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and the people of Qatar on the national day, wishing the country further progress and development.
