Doha: On this day, we feel the blessings of the homeland, the wise leadership, the security, and safety in our dear country, Qatar, said Dr. Muna Al Marzouqi, Associate Vice-President for Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Qatar University.
All the praise be to Allah for blessing Qatar and its leader, the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. We are proud that we belong to this great country, with its promising leadership, she told The Peninsula.
The State of Qatar has risen to the ranks of developed countries and has become a global sports destination. The best evidence for this is the latest achievement of the State of Qatar, which is its victory to host the 2030 Asian Games. The country has recently witnessed a development renaissance in various State sectors such as education, construction, transportation, health, tourism, etc.
Our role as members of this community has become to give more, so our love for our country and expressing it shows in its highest form when we pledge to our homeland to be good individuals in this community — clinging to our religion, our morals, and values, and continue to develop ourselves and perform our duties with perfection and sincerity.
Our country today needs creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs. Each of us complements the other, so let us cooperate and join hands in the elevation of this dear nation, for we only accept the best for our country in everything we do.
I always remind myself that I am ‘monitored by God Almighty,’ and that I ‘represent my country, Qatar’ in everything I do, and that God loves if one does a job, to be good at it, as our Prophet (peace be upon him), said.
This prompts me to work with greater motivation. I pray to Allah to preserve this country, perpetuate its blessings, and grant us all success for the good of the country.
