Each of us is born with inherent personal qualities, and such traits are responsible for our brain function and natural neurochemical and biochemical reactions. They create an electrochemical dialogue that occurs between the brain, the endocrine system, and the physical body.
Our characters play an important role in determining our behaviours and habits, so it is no wonder that personality type is related to your health. Can I say that our traits, which explain consistent patterns of thinking and behaviour, affect us in surprising ways! In fact, different studies have expressed that people who constantly report lack of self-discipline are more likely to die than those who are more aware. But is this kind of knowledge useful when it comes to medical treatment, health education or health promotion?
Actually, your character has a single and clear role in determining how healthy you are, experts say that there is a relationship between everything in life, how tense or angry are you and how do you interact with the world?
However, according to most personal theories, we all have within our character the type of each of the strengths and weaknesses that are determined primarily by solid genetic nerve synapses, which is present in our personality traits. The more we act within our inherent characteristics (strength), the stronger and more confident we become. The more we feel about reality, the more control we have over our lives and better equipped to make choices that create the life and health we want.
With above points, the question which arises is, can the personality of each individual affect his health? I would say here, that some people retain impressive firmness and strength in extremely difficult situations, with all the factors against them. On the other hand, we heard that some individual who even with everything in their interest, are prone to health problems. For instance, former South African President, Nelson Mandela spent more than 30 years in prison with more severe restrictions than ordinary prisoners, he was denied visits. Nevertheless, Mandela maintained a very positive attitude that made him President and won Nobel Peace Prize.
So, it is about our personality and what reaction and interaction occur. Looking to different types of our personalities, we observe that aggressive personality; do not control their reactions, do not respond to the advice of those around, tend to smoke more than others with very little exercise!. Sadly, based on the above features, this character becomes vulnerable to many serious problems like, death before the age of fifty, high levels of stress hormone cortisol and increased risk of heart attack.
On other hand, a quite or carful personality, which is one of the positive personalities that benefit the owner great benefits, as it has the features of living the moment, controls stress and anger. In fact, such features translated into a stable health and psychological state with highest pleasure of life, less likely to develop heart disease and having a strong immune system because it is low tension. Moreover, psychiatrists add that a person who frees himself from stress is living a long, comfortable life and giving health to his heart.
Definitely, there are other types of personality that needs to be understood, but I believe that as with many things, your individual risk of developing a health problem can depend upon a variety of factors beyond your personality, including genetics, environment, lifestyle and behaviors.
Understanding your personality can be a great way to help determine what kind of health choices or changes you need to focus on. As people who are more conscientious may be more likely to make healthier choices while those who are high in neuroticism may be less likely to seek medical help or have health support.
At end, just because you tend to have a certain type of personality does not doom you to a future for getting diseases. We have to look carefully at the details of our character and reinforce its positive attributes and get rid of its negative attributes and this is not impossible, so we avoid many health and psychological risks.
