Doha: Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the State of Qatar H E Abd Al Rahim Al Siddig Mohammed affirmed that the State of Qatar has been able to continue its path of development and in helping brotherly countries despite the circumstances of the Gulf crisis and its repercussions and COVID-19 pandemic that affected the world. Qatar was also able to maintain the integrity of the monetary, financial and banking situation despite this, with the growth in cash reserves and the diversification of their source, he added.

The Ambassador stressed that the State of Qatar is making appreciable efforts in the development process, which is clearly visible to all residents on its land.
In exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of National Day, he said that the State has continued to play an active role at the regional and international levels and in several fields, including achieving peace and making strategic partnerships with countries and international organisations.
The Ambassador praised Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s announcement that the Shura Council elections will be held in October 2021 as a step towards a democracy that is based on the values and cohesion of the Qatari society.
He also referred to Qatar’s role in achieving peace in a number of countries and its remarkable role in supporting development locally and internationally, pointing out that Qatar has remained an active member in all international, economic, political and humanitarian forums.
The Ambassador praised the State’s support for the economic sectors affected by the pandemic, which contributed to mitigating its effects on citizens and residents alike, noting that at the international level Qatar has been supporting the efforts of more than 70 countries and international organisations to address the pandemic, pointing out that Sudan was among the countries that benefitted greatly from Qatari initiatives and efforts in that regard.
The Ambassador indicated that a memorandum of understanding was recently signed in the field of strengthening the health system in Sudan to respond to emergencies and work is underway to expand the circle of cooperation between the two sides in the field of education.
The Ambassador said he looks forward to growing bilateral cooperation agreements in all economic, cultural, social and developmental fields, especially in the field of infrastructure.
Ambassador Abd Al Rahim Al Siddig Mohammed extended his sincere congratulations to the leadership and people of the State of Qatar on the occasion of Qatar National Day, wishing the brotherly Qatari people continued progress and prosperity and for their wise leadership good health and wellness to continue the process of development.
