Ambassador: Qatar, Oman share goal of promoting peace, stability

Doha: Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Qatar H E Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi said that the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman enjoy historical, deep-rooted and solid relations, in addition to the social and kinship ties.

Owing to the wise leadership of H M Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, and his brother Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, these relations are proceeding at a balanced pace towards wider horizons and opportunities, he stressed. He said that the solid ground that established this relationship, the size of the achievements made, and the level of awaited ambitions make the field open for more cooperation in various fields that achieve more coherence. 


Ambassador of Oman to Qatar, Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi 

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day, the Omani Ambassador said that the common interests and the pursuit of prosperity for the two peoples and spreading the culture of peace and stability are a fundamental goal of the two brotherly countries, noting that the exchange of visits of the delegations of the two countries continues and work is proceeding according to the drawn plans.

Strenuous efforts are being made to continue forming commercial partnerships and making investments in the two countries which leaderships are greatly eager to diversify sources of national income, he said, adding that numerous agreements and memoranda understanding have been signed in the economic, commercial, cultural and other fields.

He lauded the positive transformations taking place in the country, and the remarkable prosperity in all aspects, stressing that the process of construction and development continues at steady steps drawn by the Qatari government, and the multiple achievements testify to the continuous tireless work exerted by all the spectrum of the Qatari people. Infrastructure projects throughout the country are visible to everyone, he said.

The Ambassador also pointed out that the State of Qatar, thanks to the wisdom of its leadership, is moving towards a knowledge economy with its diversification of investments in infrastructure, its economic diversification, the development of its human resources, its preservation of the environment, the expansion of its green areas, and its endeavor to direct its natural resources in the best way.

He said: “We are very proud of the acceleration of the steps in the completion of infrastructure projects related to the 2022 World Cup, and what Qatar has taken to follow the highest international standards of quality and safety in the eight stadiums. Qatar has succeeded in perfectly placing its imprint on the stadium models to simulate its cultural and historical heritage in dazzling masterpieces to add to the glamor and beauty of the landmarks of the sisterly State of Qatar.”

Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Qatar Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi stressed that the State of Qatar’s successful management of the COVID-19 pandemic reflected positively on its impact. 

Concluding his remarks, the Omani Ambassador extended congratulations on the occasion of the National Day to Amir 

H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and the brotherly Qatari people, asking God Almighty to perpetuate such happy occasions for them and more progress and prosperity for the sisterly State of Qatar under its wise leadership.
