The 19th edition of Project Qatar kicked off on Monday with over 300 exhibitors showcasing their products and services. One of the biggest trade exhibitions related to construction and related sectors attracts thousands of visitors. The importance of the exhibition can be gauged from the fact that several ambassadors from participating countries and numerous international trade delegations were present on the opening day.

In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, this year’s Project Qatar has a dedicated space for ‘Qatar Industries,’ where the Qatari industrial sector will be introduced to the international audience.

This is expected to help the local manufacturers and service providers to offer their products and services to a wider international market.Unlike the Western countries, where growth is deaccelerating, the region is witnessing development at a breakneck speed and many new projects are on the pipeline in Qatar and neighbouring countries.

Project Qatar will offer the right platform for professionals involved in the construction sector to network and discover new products and ideas. For this edition, the centre stage is occupied by the ‘Smart Cities’ pavilion, which is showcasing the latest cutting-edge technologies, which could change the way the industry functions in the future. The trade fair has around 325 companies, including 120 international firms from 25 countries, exhibiting their services and products.

Many seminars are also happening along with the exhibition on different topics like investment, technology, and environmental concerns among others.Qatar has been hosting many big-ticket exhibitions in various sectors over the years attracting hoards of industry professionals and trade bodies.

The geographical location of Qatar makes it very attractive for companies and visitors as it is easily accessible from all parts of the world. Moreover, the infrastructure, both exhibition space as well as accommodation for the participants, are top notch as hosting the FIFA World Cup has added many more rooms in all categories.

In a few months, Qatar will be hosting another huge exhibition, the International Horticultural Exhibition Expo 2023 Doha, which will be held for six months from October 2, 2023. Over 3 million visitors are expected for the expo and 70 countries have confirmed their participation to date.

Another interesting and global exhibition Qatar will be hosting is the Geneva International Motor Show, which is slotted during the first half of October. In February we saw a very successful Jewellery and Watches Exhibition. Hosting all these popular and well-visited expos throughout the year keeps the various sectors involved in organising them buzzing and bodes well for the local economy.
