While the world seems busy with recent developments in Afghanistan, crisis emerging from cancellation of French-Australian submarine deal, natural disasters happening from Haiti to eruption of volcano in Spanish island of La Palma, Israel is continuing its mission of killing, displacing Palestinians and confiscating their lands and properties by going too far in barbaric practices against the defenceless Palestinians.
Away from the eyes of the world, Israel continues to carry out extrajudicial killings and arbitrary arrests on a daily basis with an aim of silencing any criticism of its apartheid policies and all forms of legitimate resistance to its illegal occupational practice.
Yesterday, five Palestinians were killed and others were injured by Israeli occupation forces during clashes that erupted in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
The violation of the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli settlers has become a daily scene as the settlers every day storm the courtyards of the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.
Yesterday alone, 651 intrusive settlers performed Talmudic rituals in the courtyards of Al Aqsa Mosque, while the occupation forces removed the Muslim worshipers from the settlers’ paths to facilitate the incursion.
According to the Islamic Endowment Department in Jerusalem, since 2003, the Israeli occupation forces have been allowing settlers to storm the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque. The Department has called on the Israeli occupation authorities, more than once, to prevent such incursions and provocations, but to no avail. The Israeli occupation forces launch daily arrest campaigns and raids and search homes, affecting most parts of the occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, as part of their repressive practices against the Palestinian people.
In light of lack of political will to resolve the Palestinian issue at the global level and world’s persistent indifference to Israeli practices, Israel’s strategy made storming of the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque a normal daily practice.
The world, which is accustomed to Israel’s disregard for tens of UN resolutions and hundreds of condemning resolutions related to violations of human rights, still lacks the will and interest to end the Israeli tyranny and its disregard for the rights of the Palestinians and its occupation of Arab lands.
While Israeli settlers storm Al Aqsa Mosque, parallel military operations in West Bank towns and villages are near-daily reality, for over the years, the Palestinian resistance is getting stronger and impossible to be uprooted. The more the criminal occupation oppresses, the greater the Palestinians’ resolve and love for sacrifice in defence of Islamic sanctities and liberation of their occupied homeland emerge.
