The fifth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Follow-up Committee held yesterday in Riyadh comes as part of the implementation of the will of the Al-Ula Declaration and the commitment of the two countries’ leaderships, to realize the interests and aspirations of the people of the two countries. The meeting also comes following a written message sent by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Wednesday to HRH Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The message which was handed over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani dealt with the close fraternal relations of the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them, as well as the most prominent regional and international developments.

The State of Qatar, which has been enduring hardships of regional and international efforts to bring peace to a number of countries suffering from conflicts, over the past two decades, and the recent developments in Afghanistan in which it plays a pivotal role, whether in its ongoing reconciliation or the global efforts to evacuate hundreds of thousands of people from Kabul will not be the last.

These unprecedented efforts and striving for peace making and bringing stability to nations under war and turmoil, never make the State of Qatar underestimate the importance of strengthening its distinct bilateral relations with brotherly countries like Saudi Arabia and other GCC members.

Since the issuance of Al-Ula statement in early January this year, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are implementing in full swing what have been agreed on, and the successive meetings between the brotherly countries reflects the keenness and the great care and attention given to the fraternal bilateral ties by the leadership of the two countries.

The two countries have established the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council to advance bilateral relations and the partnership to broader horizons, in a way that achieves Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Kingdoms Vision 2030 and meets the aspirations of the leaderships of the two countries to achieve the interests of their peoples. In this context also the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met yesterday H H Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor of the United Arab Emirates and reviewed bilateral relations and the means to enhance them in different fields, in addition to regional and international developments, and issues of joint interest.

These follow up meetings come as extension of the joint works aimed at serving the supreme interest of these nations and strengthening the bonds of friendship and brotherhood the peoples the region.
