Israeli barbaric aggression in Jenin

Since the assumption of power in Israel by one of the most extremist governments hostile to Arabs and Muslims, there have been successive killings of Palestinians in cold blood and under flimsy colonial pretexts.

Yesterday alone, nine Palestinians were killed during an Israeli raid on the Town of Jenin, a flashpoint town in the occupied West Bank. This has stirred fears of further flare-ups after the largest single death toll in years of fighting.

The barbaric aggression of the occupation forces in Jenin and its camp, which left nine people dead and dozens wounded, has forced the Palestinian Authority to end its security coordination with the occupation authority and called on the international community and the US administration to immediately take action to stop the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army in Jenin and its camp.

The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli aggression against Jenin camp and considered it an extension of the heinous and horrific crimes of the occupation forces against the defenceless Palestinian people.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar affirmed that the Israeli occupation had become more reassured than ever before of impunity and unaccountability, which encouraged it to commit more crimes and violations against the Palestinian people. The ministry added that the occupation authorities alone are responsible for the increasing violence resulting from this systematic escalation against the Palestinian people.

The occupation forces have not been held accountable for the daily crimes. They have become accustomed to killing civilians, including children, women and the elderly, and attacking hospitals and vital civilian facilities.

Criticizing the international community’s double standards regarding the Palestinian cause, Qatar has reaffirmed that the adherence to international laws and humanitarian issues cannot be fragmented or applied in a particular place in the world and ignored or bypassed in another. Qatar labelled these double standard stances as an unacceptable duplicity; because the sanctity of people’s blood and their rights are equal, no matter how different the places are.

Qatar rejects the continuation of the occupation due to the selective policies in implementing the resolutions of international legitimacy, preferring power politics, and imposing a fait accompli over the principles of justice and fairness.

Qatar also reiterated its firm stance toward the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the people of Palestine, and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
