After playing crucial role in transporting travellers and essential goods including medicines during COVID-19 lockdown phases witnessed globally, Qatar Airways is fast reviving and expanding its network across the globe in the times when coronavirus vaccine is taking the world to normalcy.

On Thursday, Qatar Airways announced the first stage of codeshare cooperation with China Southern Airlines has begun with the Chinese carrier placing its code on Qatar Airways flights between Guangzhou and Doha.

Flights are already available for sale with the first codeshare flights starting from December 27, 2020. The codeshare flights will enable China Southern Airlines’ passengers to book travel on Qatar Airways’ flights between Guangzhou and Doha and onwards to more than 60 destinations in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

Also Qatar Airways announced earlier that it will begin incrementally increasing flights to Montréal from January 16, 2021 and operate daily frequencies by February 25, 2021, up from the previously scheduled four weekly frequencies. The Montréal service is operated by Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350-900 featuring 36 seats in Qsuite Business Class and 247 seats in Economy Class.

By the end of March 2021, Qatar Airways plans to rebuild its network to 126 destinations including 20 in Africa, 11 in the Americas, 29 in Asia-Pacific, 38 in Europe, 13 in India and 15 in the Middle East. Many cities will be served with a strong schedule with daily or more frequencies.

Qatar Airways is not only expanding its network but has also won new acclaims internationally. Few days ago, Qatar Airways announced winning two major awards for ‘Brilliance in Employee Engagement in HR’ and the Gold Award for ‘Best Social Media Campaign’ for its 2019 Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

The airline awarded for excellence in promoting breast cancer awareness while engaging thousands of employees and passengers in a 30-day program during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 2019, as well as for its influential social media campaign which shared inspirational and informative content with millions of Qatar Airways’ followers on social media platforms.

To give maximum relief to its customers, Qatar Airways also announced recently that it will offer passengers unlimited date changes and fee-free refunds for all tickets issued before April 30, 2021 for travel completed by December 31, 2021. The airline’s latest enhancement to its flexible booking policy has been designed to continue providing customers with peace of mind that they can change their plans with ease.
