The speech of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the General Debate of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly has made the whole country proud and has given the world a vision for achieving sustainable development and global peace.

In his speech is H H the Amir aptly said that the unjust, unlawful and unjustified blockade imposed by has impacted the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) negatively and the council is unable to play its role.
“We assert our firm position to keep the region away from the risks by resolving differences through dialogue based on common interests and respect for the sovereignty of its states. Stirring up tension and dictating the will by using siege and sanctions are not in the interest of any of them,” H H the Amir said.
H H the Amir said Qatar will not stop supporting any effort exerted in favour of realising just peace, it will also continue to provide political and humanitarian support to the brotherly Palestinian people.
The speech highlighted that Qatar has assumed an active role in the international efforts on climate change, in partnership with France, Jamaica and the United Nations, leading the coalition concerned with funding climate activities and carbon pricing.
H H the Amir said Qatar will continue to carry out its humanitarian obligation in providing political support and humanitarian aid to the brotherly Syrian people to alleviate their suffering. Qatar will continue to actively participate in the international efforts to combat violent extremism. efforts are continuing at the legislative level, and the support of national counter-terrorism specialized institutions until they became a role model to be followed at the regional level, and today Qatar assumes an active role in implementing the counter-terrorism mechanisms adopted by the international community.
