The vibrancy and robustness of Qatar’s real estate sector was once again validated at the Cityscape Qatar 2018 exhibition. The four-day long real estate exhibition, that concluded yesterday, saw a strong line up companies from country and abroad.
Qatar’s real estate sectors strength was visible by the strong line up of exhibitors and huge number of visitors. This year’s show had a lineup of over 50 exhibitors across more than 9,000 sqm of exhibition space, and brought together heavyweight industry stakeholders from Qatar and abroad including Turkey, Georgia, Cyprus, US, Pakistan, and the UK.
The exibition, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, saw series of launches by Qatar’s reputed companies.
United Development Company (UDC), one of Qatar’s leading public shareholding companies and master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, set the stage for a strong show by announcing the launch of its QR2.5bn mega project Gewan Island Project.
Other developers followed the cue and announced new projects. For homebuyers and investors, the exhibition provided an opportunity to network, gained valuable market insight, and took advantage of exclusive deals, special offers and payment plans on the show floor.
Leading local developers at this year’s show included Ezdan, ASTAD, Cityscape Qatar’s Strategic Project Management Partner, and Mirage Properties. They were joined by first time exhibitors Qatar Rail, KATARA Hospitality, Place Vendome, Msheireb Properties, Just Real Estate, Qatari Diar and QNB; and international exhibitors Istihale, and Iyimaya Muhendislik Insaat AS from Turkey, Richland Consultants Inc from the US, and real estate companies from Georgia, Cyprus and Pakistan. Msheireb Properties gave updates about Downtown Doha and other projects. Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company official reviewed the latest developments in Lusail and highlighted Qatari Diar projects in Turkey, London and Sudan.
Barwa Real Estate showcased its various projects including Lusail Project, which the group plans to launch soon after obtaining the required approvals.
Katara Hospitality said that the company intends to open several projects this year, including the Salwa Beach Resort and Al Masila Spa Resort, which will be announced by the hotel and women’s health club, and the opening of the Burgstenstock Lake Lucerne Resort, one of the most prestigious resorts in Europe in September. Domestically, the company will renovate both the Marriott and Movenpick hotels.
Cityscape Qatar not only brought different stakeholders of the real estate sector at one platform but it also highlighted the strength of country’s real estate sector.
