After completing world-class infrastructure and building magnificent stadiums ahead of stipulated time to host first FIFA World Cup in the Arab world, Qatar is reaching new milestones ahead of the FIFA showpiece at a very fast pace.
As tickets sale for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is receiving a tremendous response from across the globe, the host country has also launched dedicated digital platforms for accommodation, fan cards, volunteers registration and weather updates.
The innovative steps being taken by Qatar is set to provide best experience to all particularly the fans.
The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) has launched an accommodation booking website for fans attending the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and announced the Hayya Card programme.
After purchasing World Cup tickets, fans should apply for a Hayya Card, which will be mandatory to attend matches during the tournament.
Fans can now book accommodation via a dedicated Host Country Accommodation Portal, which will offer various options throughout the year such as apartments, villas and cruise ship cabins. The fans can choose accommodation from a wide range of world-renowned hotels and hospitality services, equipped apartments and villas, vacation homes, 25,000 housing units by Barwa City Village, and more than 4,000 cruise ship rooms.
International fans are required to purchase tickets, book accommodation and apply for the Hayya Card while Qataris and residents are required to buy tickets for the matches and apply for the Hayya Card.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport has also launched a brand-new website (fifaweather2022) that will be providing the weather conditions and climate information during November and December as a service for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans. The new services will be reflected on the Q Weather App under the name the ‘FIFA 2022 Weather Conditions’. It will provide readings of all elements of the weather at the sites of the stadiums directly and round the clock.
At the same time, the biggest volunteer programme in Qatar’s history has kicked off calling applications for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 volunteers. Qatar has invited potential applicants from across the world to register to become a volunteer during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. More than 20,000 volunteers will join the FIFA World Cup 2022 during the tournament.
Considering the massive work being done, it would not be an overstatement to say that Qatar will host a World Cup in a fashion which will be long remembered.
